Our Firm

At Alight Legal, we are raising the bar for client-centered, results-driven, immigration legal services. We provide legal assistance and representation in humanitarian cases (such as asylum, Violence Against Women Act, or VAWA, U visas, T Visas, and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA); family-based cases; employment and student matters; citizenship and naturalization; adjustment of status; and appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals and Circuit Courts.
Alight Legal works for clients with a variety of needs and has extensive experience representing survivors of persecution, trauma, abuse, and crime. In addition to meeting our clients’ legal needs, we focus on providing trauma-informed care and access to holistic services. Sensitivity to our clients’ unique needs is a priority, allowing us to build trusting relationships that result in greater case preparation and more favorable outcomes.
Partners Varsha Kayi and Lindsey Wilkes originally founded Kayi & Wilkes PLLC in December 2014. Joined by partner Kaitlyn O’Shaughnessy in 2019, the trio renamed the firm Alight Legal PLLC. Alight Legal Attorneys are driven by their passion to help protect asylum seekers, reunite families, prevent unnecessary deportations, and help foreign students and businesspersons prosper in the U.S. This passion arises from a keen sense of social responsibility, as well as extensive experience in prior international humanitarian work and human rights activism. Their aspiration is to use their legal expertise and the law to make a direct impact on the lives of people across the world and to strengthen the recognition of human rights in U.S. and international communities.
Let Alight Legal help secure your safety, your family, and your future.
